Said goodbye to everyone in the hostel. Took the 0.5 mile shuttle to the gap. Getting back at it today. It’s cold. Several degrees below freezing, but that just means it isn’t the worse thing, which is hot.

Biggest climbing day we’ve had so far, 4000 ft. It is very taxing especially when the air is this cold, but I do feel like I’m getting a little bit better at it. Also completely forgot we exit Georgia today. I thought it would feel a bit more monumental but it really is just the same hills that have to be walked over. Lots of people out today now that the temp is above 20.

Made it to camp at about 330. Shelter was covered in snow. Cool. There was a side trail near by that has a very cool view and the wreckage of an old plane crash. I went through it a few times because it is cool and there was still lots of daylight. Bladerunner said there could be money in the plane (MONEYPLANE), but as much as I tried to convince everyone else that there was, no one else wanted to brave the cold.

It is supposed to get down to 28 here tonight so I have to sleep with my water filter and electronics so they don’t freeze. Sleeping liner is pretty warm but uncomfortable, we’ll see how it works. Sun set like 30 mins ago and someone is already snoring like mad.

Lots of cool ice today

Never have to return to Georgia now

Cool tree before a very gnarly climb

Some views from Raven rock that required standing on some very dicey ledges
