Day157

Long day. First time I’ve done 25 miles in a while. Climb up to white cap in the morning was chill but the promised view of katahdin was socked in hard.

White cap is considered the “last big climb” but I knew some shit little hill shortly after called “little boardman mountain” was going to be a nightmare and it was.

After boardman was some of the 15 flattest miles I’ve ever experienced. It was nice at first but started to become tedious and boring pretty quickly. I think the mental toll of the hundred mile wilderness is starting to break us. The nobos especially (including myself) feel pretty burned out and ready to close things off. I hope it isn’t bringing the mood too down for the flip floppers.

Notyet did his katahdin gift. It was a cool little dynema wallet with a white blaze on it.

Camping tonight right off jo Mary lake. It started dumping rain as soon as we got in so I set up my tarp in big mode so we had a dry place to cook. Once the rain cleared there were some very pretty views.

Tomorrow is 25 more miles to rainbow stream. Flatter than today even. It is our last day of “real” hiking. Next day is a scramble to see if we can camp at the base of katahdin or if Baxter state park is going to fuck us. Day after is Katahdin.
