Real short day today. Piph’s boyfriend dropped me and Slim off at the detour intersection, but NotYet and Piph went to the Pinkham visitor center so they could get on the actual trail and do wildcat mountain. I felt a little bad skipping wildcat and carter dome, but NotYet told me the views sucked anyway.
Got to imp shelter at like 230, even though we didn’t start until almost 10. It’s a nice shelter. Murder leg, who I had recently met, was there as well as grey fox, who I hadn’t seen since the smokies. Then a ton more people showed up. Tons and tons of section hikers, and a few more flip floppers. The shelter is packed, the tent pads are packed, but the caretaker showed me a good hammock spot that is secluded which is nice.
Tomorrow is 20 miles, pretty crazy for NH but I think is doable. Hoping it puts some space between us and this bubble of people too.
