Slackpacked a 17 mile section today that was mostly nothing of note. Huge climb in the beginning of the day and my leg was feeling mostly fine thru it. By the end of the 17 miles I was starting to feel some pain but it was still pretty walkable.
We stopped at a neat cabin shelter called Luces Lookout. You could climb to the top and see Mt Killington.
Fell in the middle of the day and snapped a trekking pole in half. Still have the other one I guess but should prioritize getting a new one.
Tomorrow is Hanover plus a bunch of extra miles just to chip away what we can. Notyet’s mom is staying a few extra days so we will be slackpacked almost all the way into the whites. It is going to suck to have to go back to full packs in that terrain I imagine, but very grateful to be able to take these days pretty easy.
