Yeesh. 120 days out here.
I debated taking a road walk straight from Pittsfield to Cheshire, but then I found a rail trail (pretty much a bike trail) that runs that route so took it instead. It was 8-9 miles, very easy, and I could see Mt Greylock from it on the distance.

Heat started to pick up at the beginning of the climb but some cloud cover rolled in before noon. The climb overall wasn’t too bad and there was a lodge/restaurant on the summit next to the big tower. Got lunch on the summit with Notyet who got there shortly after me. We got lunch beers and realized that since we are in New England now, all the IPAs are like 12%. Did not help with the descent for sure.
Notyet, Slim and Piph are doing another lawn camp so I’m in another hotel. The 1600 mile mark is on some street I didn’t walk down.
Tomorrow is a skullcrushing climb into Vermont but at least it looks like it will be cooler. Ideally we are going to try to hit Bennington, another town. It is nice to be town hopping for a bit. Carrying less food helps.
