Short day. My motivation is p low still and this is where Notyet is stopping for the day so I’m hoping to chill with him for a bit. I imagine he’ll jet off doing 30+ tomorrow but it will be cool to catch up at least.
Had a cool sunrise from the hammock this morning but forgot to take a picture of it. Also that view overlooks Camp NoBeBoSco, where they filmed Friday the 13th.
Trail was pretty smooth today. Got to Crater lake at noonish which was a cool spot.
Also saw a fire tower.
Cold front blew in while I was chilling at the lake which was very nice. Much less buggy now but also very windy. Saw a small tree get knocked over a few miles before camp.
Schedule is fairly dumpstered at this point so no clue what tomorrow is. Maybe 24 to highpoint shelter, with a morning stop in branchville to resupply? Schedule had me going to Vernon, but there is not really anything there anymore (used to be a hostel, now closed).
Still very much thinking about quitting and logistics around that. Next several days look like really good weather tho, maybe it will sway me.
