Had a little trouble with the Uber this morning so didn’t get on trail until almost 8. The day was pretty smooth as expected tho. The section north of boiling springs is very heavy with flat road and meadow walks.

I had 15 miles clocked before 1pm, and by the time I reached the last shelter before Duncannon it was about 3, so I decided to push forward into the town.

The descent was pretty rocky, which doesn’t bode well for the future but I decided I would burn as much daylight as I could while it wasn’t hot as all hell outside.
Staying at the historic Doyle hotel/bar. It is pretty nice for the price. I got some food at the bar and ran into Roadie and a few other folks there, some of them had heard about the ice cream and congratulated me. I was very tired tho and didn’t spend too much time downstairs. 25 miles is a lot with a late start and I know I need to probably do more tomorrow to get where I need to before it gets above 90.
I texted Van Gogh, who said he was just going to call it at the last shelter and do Duncannon tomorrow. Feels bad to have ditched him somewhat, but I think I’m going to burn like hell to port Clinton and take a zero, or two.
Tomorrow is ideally 29 miles to Rausch shelter. A lofty goal and it is going to be hot as hell and there are probably going to be a bunch of sharp jagged rocks that want to meet my face, but maybe if I start early enough it is doable.
