Day89

Left pine grove furnace which was really pretty. Thought my stomach would be killing me from the ice cream but I was feeling fairly solid.

The 19.2 miles into boiling springs was pretty smooth. I was a bit paranoid that a certain landmark, “rocky ridge”, would be an entrance to pain. Someone had described it as a “mini mahousac notch”, but it was pretty tame.

Then a bunch of walking thru corn fields.

Arrived at the cool little town of Boiling Springs at about 3.

Then immediately ubered to nearby Carlisle, which had actual restaurants and lodging. Ate dinner at a place called “Hoss’s” with Van Gogh. The idea of a salad bar in a restaurant he said was “very American”.

21 miles tomorrow to Cove Mountain shelter, just outside Duncannon. It looks crazy smooth. Not worried.
