Did some light cheating and made 55 miles disappear. My ankle is feeling much better but not 100% and my dad had driven up here for the past couple days to keep me off my feet and possibly do a small section of I was recovering. I didn’t want to throw him or my recovering ankle into the hell of the priest/3 ridges, so just skipped to Waynesboro and did the first shelter about 7.5 miles into Shenandoah, which looked like the terrain wouldn’t be crazy hard.
Overall felt pretty good. A little stiff like I usually am from zeros but outside that feel pretty fine. Have been hiking alone for the most part for a while now, so was very nice to be hiking with someone.
Tomorrow is 13 miles which should be doable. My dad is driving back to TX tomorrow so will be alone again but feeling pretty solid about here to Harper’s Ferry.
