Ankle was feeling noticably better this morning so I went ahead and pushed for a 20. Was feeling real groggy in the morning tho. Dunno if I just ate something weird or maybe it was because I had to Benadryl myself to sleep due to shelter scum. Luckily tonight I’m not sleeping at a shelter technically. Have a nice spot a few hundred yards south of what is supposedly one of the largest and most crowded shelters on the trail. Lots of deer here.

Today was fairly smooth overall. This section weaves thru the blue ridge parkway, a scenic road for cars that are probably distracted enough to splatter many a hobbling thru hiker. Lots of views at least.

Big classic VA rock-filled climb at the end of the day that I thought would murder me but wasn’t too bad. Weather was solid, although I still woke up sweating last night at one point. Supposed to start heating back up tomorrow so I do want to start early.
Tomorrow will be a weird day. Not a ton of clear options so I’ll probably just see how far I feel like going and if I don’t get too far I’ll just be up mad early on Wednesday to make it to Glasgow at a reasonable hour.
