Hobbling pretty bad this morning. It usually works itself out after walking a few hundred feet but I’m definitely in a lot of pain right now. Have some sunburn going on too even with minimizing the sun exposure. Not planning on double zeroing I think but will see how I feel later in the day. Glad I’m taking today tho as it is still in the high 80s. Cold front tomorrow, thank God.
The guy at the outfitter talked me out of swapping my quilt. It’s like 300 bucks for a new 30 degree quilt and it would save me a pound of weight, but there are still likely at least a couple nights below freezing coming up, so he said it would be best to at least delay that.
Resupplied at Kroger and bought a bit too much I think. Supposed to be 2 days from here to Glasgow but I might make it 3.
Walked around a bit more, shipped some clothes and other things back including most of my wool base layer, cutting a real good chunk of weight out of my pack (2lbs according to UPS).
Taped up my ankle, blistering was pretty gnarly (they were all on the left side of both my feet from a real dumb section where I had to walk across a very slanted exposed cliff face for multiple miles) but they are all at least burst at this point. Ankle is a little swollen I think just from the way I was putting weight on it while the blisters were going. Icing that up right now. Still thinking I’ll be good for tomorrow. Hotel is like 200 ft from the trailhead which is super sick.

As I was going to get more ice I ran into a guy wearing an A&M hat doing laundry. Chatted with him a bit as he was obviously hiking. He’s class of 93, started Feb 28 and his trail name is Big Bird. He’d been hiking with kdot a while back. He’s waiting on some new shoes here so may be a couple days, but I feel like I’ll run into him on the trail at some point.
