Did not sleep too well last night as I was having a lot of anxiety about today. Heavy pack, heat, and the spreadsheet has this day marked as “tough day, hard to plan around “. Got a late start too as my phone didn’t charge last night (I think the port may be getting finicky), and I didn’t want to head out with low battery.
Ended up pretty chill tho. Was drizzling off and on most of the day so the heat wasn’t too bad, and I just powered thru some of the crappier rock climbs and listened to the new Tsubi Club album 20 times.
I had packed out a food lion sandwich I wasn’t able to finish so I figured I’d eat lunch at the first shelter I passed by, it had a pretty nice view.
Got to camp at about 530 which was nice. Pine swamp branch shelter is ridiculously small and I could tell the two guys set up in it already really didn’t want me to stay in it. Lucky for them I will never shelter sleep.
Schedule for tomorrow says 12 miles to war spur shelter. Laurel Creek shelter looks like an easy 20 to knock out tho, and if I line everything up right I can straight knock a day off the schedule (and then maybe 0 in Roanoke if I feel like it).
