Day56

Really can’t say enough good about Woods Hole hostel. I’m not a super big hostel person but it is a real special place. Woke up to drink coffee on the porch and watch an amazing sunrise chatting with the folks there.

So much cool art and stuff is packed into every corner of the property.

Today’s hike was about as easy as expected. I packed out a loaf of homemade bread from the hostel so I could sit on a log and eat a chunk of it like a goblin. Far Out has a lot of the power lines marked as “views” which is funny but today actually had a good view from a power line.

Got into Pearisburg at 2ish and got my motel room. It is pretty slummy but it works. A guy named “Tax Collector” that was at the hostel told me the town was “basically Erwin but a little more compact” which is pretty spot on. Outfitter here is closed on weekends so I’m stuck wearing my clown shorts for longer. Hit the food lion and got most of what I need for resupply, will probably hit the Mexican restaurant tomorrow. Only other thing here is a dairy queen.

Already pulled the trigger on the zero tomorrow. Probably shouldn’t have. Big miles on Monday tho and according to the schedule this is the single largest resupply stretch on the whole trail so it will be the heaviest my pack will be.
