16 miles today to the marathon start point. Wasn’t super awful but the weather is getting much warmer. Lake views were nice but my lower back pain is starting to flare up. Got in at 4ish and tried to choke down the rest of my food to lighten the pack for tomorrow.
Notyet and Lucky Charm are tenting tonight as the shelter we are at looks pretty heavily mice infested. Our plan is apparently to wake up at 3am, walk the 26.2 to get to Damascus before too much stuff closes, stay at a hostel there, and then take off to a nearby campsite the next day. Was hoping for a zero tbh, but this does give us plenty of opportunity to resupply, and most importantly for me, get new shoes.
Tomorrow seems likely to wreck me beyond anything I’ve done before. Will be kind of cool to maybe pass a bunch of people who are ahead of us tho and be in Damascus. It will also be less hot at night.
