Stay at “All in the Tramily” has been good so far (I think “Tramily Matters” is a better name). Slim Jim and One More are our hosts and it is very cozy and they are wonderful adventurous people with some really interesting stories. My body weight is up two pounds from the last hostel. Trail is making me fat(ter).
Chill zero day today. Weather is painfully nice, should probably be hitting miles but instead we are just hitting burgs and beers and planning. Tomorrow is 11 miles to wayah bald shelter which looks to be fairly easy. Weather should be good and there are supposed to be some good views. Then 16 miles to the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC). I am debating getting a room there or just camping right outside right now, will probably decide tomorrow.
Went to an outfitter today called Outdoor76. Nice people there but I didn’t really need anything outside of a small towel to dry/clean my cook pot. I generally try to just boil water in the pot and dump it into a knorr bag, but sometimes it is easier to cook in the pot and sometimes I accidentally fuck up and poke a hole in the bag and have to dump everything in anyway. They gave me a free buff which is a little more colorful than my plain blue one so I can further flesh out my clown costume. Notyet busted his trek poles yesterday so he got those replaced. I fear mine may go soon but hopefully after the smokies at least.
With the weather tomorrow I may try to sleep under the stars without the tarp. A bunch of the planets are supposed to align in some way or something according to some guy from the previous hostel.
