Woke up to everything soaked as expected. Got out pretty early compared to the rest of the crowd at hawk mt. Trek to gooch Mt shelter was 7.7 miles and goes over Sassafras mt which I did not realize was a thing but apparently gave people a lot of trouble. Ended up getting in at 2. Only one other guy there, “bladerunner”. He was chill. Weather overall was fantastic, knee is feeling much much better which is good.
Schedule has me going into town tomorrow after a 5 mile hike, which I’m tempted to deviate from, but eh, I’m not on a schedule.
Weird thing also, was passed by a guy named “Ricochet” who was clearly booking it. He is apparently a YouTuber. Don’t have any service here so can’t confirm.
